i was the only customer at the cutting table waiting to have my fabric cut .There were to sales associates at the table.
One person was rolling sheer fabric back onto the empty bolt. The other sales girl was writing some information onto a clip board , recording the end of bolt fabric information so that she could roll it up , put a paper banner type label on it for the discount fabric bin. I looked at one associate then the other, stood there for three minutes, looked at each person again, and finically asked if I was invisible. The one person rolling the bolt of fabric told me that she was not on cutting and she was helping a customer.
By the way the customer was long gone. The other girl who was preparing the discount fabric said that she was not going to leave that task she was doing for so and so who I gathered was coming in later. I had to wait till she was finished. Years ago I worked at fabric stores and had the same jobs to do but the customer standing in front of you was taken care of FIRST.
This happened at the Methuen, Ma 01844 store. This is not the first problem I have encountered at this store. There are incompetent workers that have little knowledge about products sold in the store and simple ranks as cutting fabric straight.
Training should be given to all associates as to how to cut fabric straight even if it means opening up the fabric to a single layer and cutting on the grain of the material.The customer in the store, ready to purchase the product should be served before housework!
Reviewer is in unhappy mood. This person stated that there is a room for improvement of poor customer service. Please immediately contact the author of this review to discuss poor customer service of joann fabric customer care. Joann Fabric needs to "train the sales associates at the methuen massachusetts store to wait on people in a timely manner. also pay associates more as an incentive to work " according to poster's claims.
