I just left a very unpleasant shopping experience at Joanne's. The person cutting the fabric was not interested in helping me locate a specific fabric, and argued with me about the price telling me it was not on sale even though there was a 40% off taped to the bundle.

Then the cashier argued with me when I told her they had not taken the correct amount off (it was a difference of $30). After spending 250 dollars, I would expect a more positive experience.

Both these women were very nasty and should improve their customer service. I would normally not be concerned as the store was busy, but there is no excuse for rudeness.

If the store was busy, of course the person cutting fabric isn't going to want to help you look for something you can locate yourself. They're probably busy cutting fabric and don't have time to leave the line to be your personal shopper.
