Waterbury, CT store--I am a crafter who frequently purchases pre-cut remnants. I just had ANOTHER issue with trying to purchase remnants less than 1 yard and being charged for a FULL yard!

Last week I brought approximately six remnants to the check-out and saw the cashier simply swipe the bar code into the register, which rings ANY item as a FULL item. This means my HALF, TWO-THIRDS and other measures rang up as FULL YARDS! They are required to enter the correct yardage FIRST! What's more, when I stopped the cashier and tried to explain this mistake, he didn't seem to understand.

Yes, I was only paying half price, but half price on a HALF yard that rang up as a FULL yard! I have had this problem on a regular basis for nearly FIVE YEARS at this store!

Although the cashier was pleasant enough, he just didn't seem to understand what I was telling him, and we're BOTH native English speakers! TRAIN your associates, or I go to other JoAnns!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

JOANN Fabric Pros: Selection of special fabrics, Mostly helpful and courteous staff.

JOANN Fabric Cons: Lack of staff training, Result- overcharges for remnants.

First of all, there is no PRECUT remnants, a remnant is a remnant. You apparently dont work for this company and were not informed, the company changed the input for scanning a remnant to purchase.

The remnants have a barcode, like all items in the store and are scanned the same way as all items. Of course the cashier didnt understand what you meant because it is NOT done the way thought, and policy has changed and the cashier was informed of doing it correctly. You are automatically charged according to the specific yardage by the BARCODE. If you got over charged,as you sat yo have for 5 years, and this company is so bad, why do you keep going back?

Obvious you have no idea what you are even talking about. The associates are trained, its to bad more customers would be taught better NATIVE ENGLISH with some manners as well!!! Get your coupons out of your purse, downloaded on your phone, and stop "forgetting" them at home and expect the clerks to have extra for your inconsiderate attitudes towards other customers, that have to stand behind many snotty rude customers wasting our time standing behind you!!

I have never seen so many snotty, rude women who take their pitty entitled attitudes out on the clerks. Get some manners, and find a differnt store to take your *** out on!!!!

I work at JoAnn's in CT - we actually did a major system update. All remnants are entered just by scanning the barcode now.

This new method actually leaves a lot less room for error, since none of it has to be entered manually at the registers. :) the computer enters all of the information and then automatically *** the remnant discount.

Not sure why it censored that. It automatically takes the discount off after the barcode scans.

I know store I go to recently updated their system. They no longer have to put in the yardage before scanning the label, it just gets scanned and everything happens without them having to push more buttons. Maybe that is what happened.
