JOANN Fabric
Reviews and Complaints
Rude JoAnn's manager
I shop at JoAnn Fabrics all the time in Lakewood, New York. The young girl manager you have there now is terrible.
She is rude, talks too fast, cuts fabrics carelessly, argues with customers, and is a know it all! I am very disappointed and fault JoAnn's for only caring about making sales, bottom line, not caring about the customer at all, hiring people who know very little about sewing. I have heard customers help other customers because the employee cannot answer the question. If there was somewhere else closer to go I would.
But you probably already know that.
When the weather improves I will go to Erie, Pa. Or even Hamburg, NY if service doesn't improve.

Joann Fabric Customer Care Review
Debit Card Wont Work in Store or Online
I had went to get some fabric about two weeks ago and when I went to pay with my debit card which I always use as credit I never enter my pin and I dont even know it and I always use the credit option on my debit card with it any other store and it wouldn't work at Joanns. On their card reader it kept saying choose international or us.
The employee told me to try both options and neither worked and the employee was kinda rude about it and told me theres nothing else they could do to help. Went and tried to order stuff for cyber Monday online and it still wouldn't accept my card.
The store needs to fix this problem. I used to really like shopping here till this all happened.

JO-ANNS is a Horrible Company
After fighting with these people about an online order that they won't ship, they wore me down and I give up. They charged my credit card -TWICE and still won't do anything about honoring their order acceptance (which in the rest of the world is called a CONTRACT).
The large number of complaints against Joann Stores indicate that this company never honors their commitments. Perhaps the company is having some financial problem - bankruptcy soon?
Anyone with a problem you can contact the CEO, Jill Solteau at jill.soltau@***.com; or the "supervisor of customer care" Sarah Smith - sarah.smith@***.com.
Neither will do *** for you, though.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

If almost everything in your store is on sale ,,,,you CANNOT use the useless coupon BAD MANAGEMENT I AM REMOVING. My name from your list for coupons I won't be shopping ther either !
I received my coupons in mail, and 60% off I was thrilled! Oh , no, you CANNOT use the coupons on practically ANYTHING in the whole store.
Maybe sewing notions.
I am there to purchase 10 Yards of material to upholster my chaise Lounge.
Oh if anything is on sale you can't use your coupon. What a farce. You do that to get people in there that didn't know that! Why bother sending them.
Well I tore mine up pI'm home now , and sending you this B S you feed people what you're doing .I'm putting this out on every thing on Internet . Not to go there until you change your policies.
You have lost me . And disappointed a lot of people.

Joann Fabric - Shopping Carts Review
Absolutely not impressed with the carts at your va beach hilltop location. I had my 3 year old daughter and 2 year old nephew so i had to use 2 carts to try and shop.
Ended up just going to the register and asking the associate for what i neesed (gingerbread men sprinkles). She was very nice and went and got them for me. In order to leave i had to get the children out of the two carts now.. only my daughters feet kept getting stuck and my nephew was trying to get out himself while im trying to forcefully remove my childs stuck feet.
Fortunately, the other sales associate intervened before something horrible happened. It was very stressful anf embarrassing. Unless you want children running around your store i would suggest different. I normally only have one child.
How is anyone suppose to shop in your store with more than one young child? -amanda

Joann's is NOT the place for a quilter
I have often shopped Joann for sewing essentials, especially during coupon events. This spring, I decided to take a leap and do their Laceflower Quilt Block of the Month, which isn't really a block of the month since they are all released at once.
I asked the clerk at the local store in Milford, MA "Will these sell out? Should I buy them all at once?" She reassured me that it was a new item and there shouldn't be any problem buying them over time. Mind you the item was released in March 2016 (see http://fabriceditionsblog.com/2016/03/02/quilt-blocks-introducing-laceflower/) Well, I went in today to buy the last three blocks and found that there were none. I checked the website and searched for "Laceflower" and returned ZERO results.
I called the customer service line on the back of the package for Block 9, and after being on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that they didn't carry the items and that I should "try Wal-Mart." Joann was the exclusive retailer for this item. I called the store and asked if they expected to receive more of the item and the lady who answered couldn't be bothered to check for me, she simply said, "I don't know." She referred me back to the customer service line that I had already called. I called another store and found blocks 10 and 12, and the lady there told me that they have none of the other items, binding, extra fabric by the yard, the applique pack, the fat quarters, nothing. It is inconceivable that I now have 11/12 blocks and will be unable to finish the quilt with matching fabrics since none are available through Joann a mere SIX months after the item was "brand new." (crossing fingers to find it on eBay!) Poor customer service, dirty and dated stores, limited merchandise unless its a very common item, and overpriced unless you use a coupon.
Joann needs a competitor, and I will happily shop there.
Until that happens, I will be focusing my shopping on local quilt stores, online quilt retailers and Amazon for the sewing basics. Joann is a dinosaur and needs to be replaced in the general marketplace.

Joann Fabric - Quilting Classes Review
I took a crochet class at Joann recently and was very dissapointed at what we did there. It was three hours and the first two hours we did the same thing, the chain stitch.
The teacher did not explain it very well and I left very confused.
The last hour we worked on the single crochet. We were supposed to make a beanbag but all I made was a tiny little thing of yarn because of how the time was divided.
Poor service or no service and false advertising

Press the red cancel button, and manually enter your card number in, and the expiration date. It will ask the clerk to enter your ccv number on the back and force it through.
But yes, the registers constantly have problems, like two days ago it wouldn't read someone's check. Seriously?
