Customers who are inconsiderate towards other customers

A waste of time, and very annoying to stand in line behind other customers who do not know how to use their coupons. First of all, get your coupons out ahead of time, download them before hand or get your links all ready to be scanned. Do not wait until you are ready to pay, to decide you need to use your coupons. Have some consideration that there are others waiting behind you that do not want to waste their time on your inconsideration's! Do not expect the clerk to take your cell phones to browse fro your coupons, or download them because if your phone gets dropped or broken I am sure you will all complain about that as well!. So customers, get your coupons out and be ready in line!!

If people had their coupons ready and didn't question EVERY PRICE, there would not be lines.

STORE IS A PIG STY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Nov 02, 2019

Maybe some mgmt that cares not only for the merchandise but the employees as well. The attitude of some employees has been decreasing for months and it shows.

A few more months of this and the location on Indian School Rd will be just like the Desert Ridge Mall location.

A hugh pig sty, employees that dont care anymore and *** management. I give them 6 more months to become a dive.

Original review Nov 02, 2019
this is store is now a pig site I have been coming here for a little over almost a year now cuz they were brand new last year about this time 2018 now there's fabric draped on the floor it's just it's not need anymore there's no color people just don't seem to care to properly put things back and the people that work there they just don't care anymore and you can tell.

Complaint about employees

My mother in-law and I went to check out and while the process went well at the beginning, we both went to pull out our coupons to use at register. I had taken a screen shot of mine for easier check out and my mother pulled up her email version. The check out clerk suddenly turned aggravated, causing major confusion during our check out experience. Her tone became rude and condescending when my mother in-law tried to voice her concern over the clerks change of attitude and treatment towards us. My mother in-law even expressed not being comfortable downloading the Joanns app. Understandably since my mother in-law is not familiar with apps in her golden age. This clerk was not polite nor was she seemed willing to empathize. Rude. We will never shop here again if this is the way employees treat there customers.

Just because someone gets paid minimum wage does not make them defective, ignorant and/or impolite. Lots of people who get paid minimum wage are highly functional, bright and friendly. What people get paid does not define them, nor should it be an excuse for not being good at their job.

Guest

People like you are the reason . These people make min wage and work hard all day. Having people fumble with their collective phones to save an extra dollar is frustrating.

This comment is a little confusing and the story doesnt seem complete. What does the email version have to do with the app?

If she had the email version why was she uncomfortable downloading the app? If a customer wants to get a discount, regardless of what store they shop in, and they want the discount whether is is from an app, coupon, email, printed coupon, flyer, they MUST FOLLOW the stipulations on what the discount applies to. For example if a coupon says it is good for only REGULAR priced item then that what it means, that you cannot use it on a sale priced item. It is so annoying standing in line at a checkout, behind people who do not read the coupons details and then complain that they didnt get the discount when it is their fault to begin with.

I waste a lot of time standing behind inconsiderate people who think that everything revolves around them and that others have to tolerate these people. Also you dont mention why the clerks attitude change towards you both, and I am assuming from your post that it has to do with coupons? If your mother in law is not comfortable in downloading the app, why didnt she just use the coupon in the email? The reason you get a discount is because Joann's wants you to download the app.

If not, then no discount. I wonder what the whole story of your encounter was and what really happened.

Mail In Coupons are Just A Waste of Time~

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have always loved your stores for my crafts and school projects, but it is so frustrating when I try to use the coupons that receive in the mail. This the 3rd time in the past 4 weeks where I wasn't able to! I purposly look for items that AREN"T on sale, so I could use the 60% off coupon. Second time when attempting to purchase ribbon.. The bins were NOT marked for any sale, and when I go to the register the rep states , 'it's on sale, so I can't use the coupon!" Why then aren't the bins marked as such before I waste time, choose an item(s), wait on line, onlty to have to get out of the line and start all over again! I don't know why you even waste time and money on mailings, when the coupons can SELDOM be applied..Lately, I'm finding AC Moore and Michael's are more accomodating! :(

I went a few weeks ago and bought 2 candles n material I had a few coupons which I couldn't use I was charged full price for each candle and had told the clerk before hnd that they were buy one get one free!! well register did not accept that so she put it in as 7.99 each only after going to check if that was true! I had a coupon for buy one get other for 64% off which had I used that coupon would have been 12,99 for two not 16.00 dollars so then then very next day they still had these candles on sale again better then the previous sale or coupons. I tried to call n got a email with Pissed Consumer whats the message. I have to say the girls in this Joanne Fabrics are all very courteous n try to honor and do what they can. Fom my point of view is that the registers are whats messed up. Why have coupons n persentage off if their are soo many stipulations in the coupons disclaimers!! the clerk showed me how far down in the disclaimer it was furthermore I believe it starts at the top n trickles down. treat your people better fix the computers n honor coupos if your going to give them.

Pet policy

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I don’t understand the new policy. Service animals are good, regular pets are bad. I now cannot say that my items come from a pet free environment. While I was shopping in the store a dog lifted his leg and went potty on a row of fabric. The fabric I needed on the bottom row was covered in brown/white pet fur. I made my purchase at a competitor store due to this fact. If this policy continues I will be unable to shop in your stores for customers sewn items. Your customer service is a joke anymore. A phone call would have sufficed but since no one answers the phone anymore it’s not possible.

I totally agree that not animals should be allowed into all stores and not all these animals they bring into the store are actually service animals. I had a small dog nip at me, caught my sleeve but didnt break my skin, as I walked past her cart.

I am not so sure that it is a Joanns policy or a state law as to where service animals are permitted into stores.

But there are always people who take advantage of policies and the store might not be able to do anything about it unfortunately. Not all animals are as cute to customers, as their owners think and its quite annoying that as a customer, we have to tolerate people not controlling their animals in a public place.

Difficulties getting my in store questions even answerrd

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am really concerned about the clerks and workers herein. My sister and I were raised with manners and respect for others; and we were disappointed that these basic courtesies were not shown to us in return; though we intended to purchase from the store. This is the second, consecutive discouraging experience with the Kokomo Indiana store. I worry that management or perhaps corporate issues contribute to these significant climate dynamics. This hardly makes sound business sense in today's competitive market place. Perhaps decreases in consumer spending trends can assist those responsible to prioritize customer service. Thanks for listening, and I sure hope things get better for Joann's valuable clerks and workers.

Inaccurate pricing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Im very often overcharged on my purchases. Cashiers arent as knowledagable. Good place to shop and friendly staff but their prices is twice as as any other store. I also find prices are not updated on the shelves. And they dont honor it. Items ring up higher on the register. They wont do anything to adjust it to the shelf price.

Safety issue at BelAir Maryland store

I visited this JoAnn store today on October 3rd. On going in the store I noticed a ladder out front and workers up on a lift apparently redoing a sign- this store is undergoing major renovations.

I went in and shopped - kind of forgetting what I saw outside. When I came out I veered to the right after exiting the door remembering they were working there. It was then I heard a crashing sound and looked to the left. What had smashed onto the street in front was part of the sign above the store and it landed in the street.

Quite shaken I went over to talk to the man on the ground. I am trying to convey to him this is a big safety issue-someone could easily be hurt with something that is falling from such a height. He ignores me and they go on working. I then call the store to report what I saw.

First call goes unanswered because it’s so busy in there and not enough help. Second call I describe what’s going on and he gives me store manager. She says she is unaware they are working outside the store. I ask what the name of the company doing the work is and she says she doesn’t know.

She says she will go out and check on and I didn’t stick around to find out. I gave her my name and phone number to refer to. I will call JoAnn Corporate tomorrow to let them know what occurred.

Seems they don’t care very much for the safety of the people who shop there. If they did they would redo their sign during hours the store is closed and not when it’s starting to get dark!

that is probably an issue to take up with the owners of the commercial building and probably not a real Joanns corporate issue.
